Halothane
Last updated: July 21, 2026
These terms govern your purchase and use of Halothane ("the software"), a macOS application provided by SFOLN LLC ("we", "us"). By purchasing or using Halothane, you agree to these terms.
Your purchase grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use Halothane on Macs you own or control. The source code is published separately under the PolyForm Noncommercial License 1.0.0; the Halothane name, logo, and app icon are trademarks of SFOLN LLC and are not licensed to you. You may not resell, redistribute, or sublicense the software.
Halothane monitors process memory on your Mac and can pause processes with the standard POSIX SIGSTOP signal. Automatic threshold pausing is off by default. At critical macOS memory pressure, the currently distributed version may automatically pause the largest non-exempt process to protect system stability. It does not automatically force-quit a process; Resume, Quit, and Force-Kill remain user actions. See the installation and behavior details and uninstall instructions.
Halothane is a one-time purchase. Payments are processed by Stripe, which acts as the merchant of record and collects any applicable taxes. Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy.
The software is provided "as is," without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. We do not warrant that it will be error-free or uninterrupted.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, SFOLN LLC will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data or profits, arising from your use of the software. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the amount you paid for the software.
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which SFOLN LLC is organized, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
